What is a Sender ID?

Sender ID is a set of characters that represents the identity of a sender. For example, when you receive a regular SMS from a friend, her or his name (as stored in your contacts) is displayed as the sender. Similarly, when a business sends an SMS to its customers, a numeric or alphabetic set of characters represents the company or brand name.

Sender ID for transactional SMS is six alphabetic characters in India. For example, NOTIFY, MSGIND, and ECAMPS

Due to new TRAI rules and regulations, we would suggest you think of a sender ID in the following format: CAMNOT, CAMMSG, etc. The first three letters of CAM denote Campus 365, and the last three letters can be any letter of your choice.

Note: In case you would like to have a unique sender ID, make sure to get it approved as per TRAI guidelines.

To update the sender ID, follow the below steps:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Settings > SMS
  2. Type down the Sender ID of your choice
  3. Click on Save button
